While I have many interests my passion falls in education and technology but more importantly the integration of the two in order to assist teachers to create enhanced lessons that allow them and their students to become successful. When I see the “light turn on” for someone I am working with, whether it be a student, a teacher or an adult learner, it is really rewarding knowing I was able to assist in helping them make the connection that hopefully allows them to take that connection and continue their learning further on their own.
I am currently a Director of Technology for a district in San Antonio, Texas. I assist our schools and administrative departments in developing and implementing plans to address technology needs, including the evaluation of hardware and software and management of information relating to attendance, grade reporting, scheduling, demographic data, and instructional technology.
I have been working in the Education field since 2003 where I started off as a CEI Computer Lab Facilitator at the elementary level. After a year of working with elementary students in the CEI Computer Lab I moved into the secondary level and taught Technology Applications at a high school for two years.
From 2009-2011 I had the privilege and honor of being a part-time adjunct faculty member at Our Lady of the Lake University where I taught Educational Technology courses to grad students who were pursuing their Masters Degrees and working on completing the Master Technology Teacher certification. Students taking my courses included teachers, librarians, counselors, and principals.
I earned a Masters of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration on Instructional Technology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas (2008). I also received my Bachelor of Science Degree in E-commerce Information Systems from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2005.
